Turn on a dime, Viral Agile Change

Misunderstanding #2: Organization change is a linear process!

The second big misunderstanding is treating organization change as a linear process, with a step by step plan and trying to “execute” the change…

This is far from the truth. The multitude of change programs that “train” and roll-out and freeze change collectively do not achieve much change. Change cannot be project managed. In fact, change cannot be managed, period. It is not the “thing” to be managed, especially in human and culture change. You facilitate the change. You help practice the elements of change and then help channel it along in the right direction. We are in 2020 with change management practices from over a 100 years ago treating human and knowledge workers as cogs. What a shame and a missed opportunity!

Tomorrow, we shall talk about the another misunderstanding #3
